The crop farming sustained a rapid growth. In 2008, the total sown area of the crops in this district was 40,728 mu, increased by 1.5% than that of the previous year. The sown area of the vegetables was 21,000 mu, with a total output of 56,158 tons, decreased by 1.2%, and the output of the fruits was 26,065 tons, increasing by 17.1%. The total output of the crops reached 5,652 tons, increased by 7.4%. The output of the corns reached 4, 480 tons, 402 kilograms yield per unit, increased by 9.2%. 2. Production in livestock husbandry. In 2008, the total output of meat, eggs and dairy products was 6955.5 tons, 536 tons and 2952 tons, decreased by 72.3%, 51.5% and 28.0% respectively than that of the previous year. 3. Prominent achievement on forestation. In 2008, totally 1.2 million trees were planted in the district, 0.8 million ones increased. The forestation area reached 133 hectares, 78 hectares decreased. The seeding culture area was 200 hectares, the same as the last year. 4. Production in fishery decreased. In 2008, the output of the sea food production was 1.57594 billion tons, decreased by 18.1% than that of the previous year. The total output value reached 1.15123 billion Yuan, decreased by 11.3%. The sea water breeding area was 4566 hectares, decreased by 39.8%, with a total output of 35,780 tons, decreased by 64.4%.
