The district madetremendous efforts to promote the culture and sports undertakings in 2008, meeting the growing material, cultural and healthy needs of the people. The district’s Culture and Sports Bureau successfully accomplished the key tasks. The construction of the library at the new zone has been completed with its ground-breaking phrase, planning and designing, and interior function setup. The preparation work has been basically completed, and it will go to operation as long as the district’s government confirms the starting date. The reconstruction and interior decoration of the fitness center for people in the district has been finished. The center will be used for health building, training and competition. The operation and management scheme have been enacted, and the outer cables for the fire control and the inner facilities of the center have been settled. They were put into use on December 10. Implement the policy of the national cultural information sharing project conscientiously. The district set up a sub-division of the national cultural information sharing project in the library, and several service spots in 15 sub-districts. Financial supports were provided to cultural center buildings at Hou Muchengyi village and Daheishi village in Yingchengzi sub-district and Cha’an villiage in Red Flag sub-district. The district’s culture and sports working conference was held, leading the direction and goals of the cultural and sports undertakings while building the modernization of the urban district. Various kinds of activities were organized so as to meet the increasing spiritual cultural needs of the people, and protect people’s interests in real earnest. According to the requirements of the national, provincial and municipal cultural relics survey, the third cultural relics survey in the district entered the second phrase, that is, the field work which was started in March. A total of 83 immovable cultural relics were investigated, of which 38 ones for reinspection and 45 ones are new discoveries. The field work was basically completed. Strengthen the construction of the physical fitness infrastructural facilities. Various kinds of fitness squares with different standards covered this district, of which are 84 gateball venues and 11 standard stadiums in primary and secondary schools. The nationwide fitness activities were extensively held in this district, such as the ANA Cup Dalian International Marathon Race, the Zhonghua Road Cup Volleyball Match and several gateball matches. The 22nd Sports Meeting and Football Match for the district's organs were undertook in 2008, and the mass sports games including the Chinese shadow boxing, Taiji double-edged sword performance, Taiji fan performance, body building exercises and soft dint ball show were widely popularized. |
