There were 14,650 operators running business in the road transport field in 2008, of which, 13,807 ones in freight transport industry, 22 ones in passenger transport industry, 574 ones in maintenance field and 247 ones in transport service industry. There were 22,870 business vehicles in this district, of which, 21,691 freight carriers and 1,179 passenger vehicles. The total tonnage of the freight carriers was 87359.94 tons, the annual freight volume was 72.26 million tons, and the annual turnover was 2.168 billion ton kilometers. The business covered all types of the transport items by land including the common carrier, dangerous goods carrier, large container, break and bulk cargo carrier, express special transport, cargo stowage, cargo agent, transfer, combined transport, vehicle maintenance, passenger cars, taxi carrier, vehicle leasing, and the passenger and freight station. The infrastructures and supporting supplies such as the transport stations for the road transport vehicles, the storehouse terminals, and the handling and loading machines were well equipped. Transport vehicles basically achieved the goals of large-scale, professional, informational, upmarket and environment-friendly operation, meeting the need of the transport market. The construction of the passenger and freight market by land speeded up and the service network of the transport was gradually improved. There were ten visible freight markets in this region, two are being built. The framework of the road freight marketing system has basically come into shape with the main parts of Quanshui hub transport market, Xiwazi less-than-carload market and the North express market, the branch of the small-sized freight transport stations, and the node point of the stowage sites.
